In our family, home cooked meals are not only about food, but are also about family bonds. My wife and I love to cook together and try to get the kids involved from time to time. One of our favorite brands to use when it comes to holidays and get-togethers is Knorr.

Knorr believes in bringing flavor to people’s lives and has recently released a new video called “Flavor of Home.” This video captures this sentiment while celebrating the greatest flavor on Earth – the taste of home. It’s a great video and definitely left me feeling inspired! The video shows the story of Carmen, a British girl who is now living in the Arctic. Of course, she misses her friends, family and life back home, but what she misses the most is mom’s cooking. Guess what? Knorr has a great surprise in store for Carmen!

Knorr Presents Flavor of Home

The film shows the story of Carmen, an Arctic husky carer, and follows her daily life, as well as that of her family thousands of miles away in the UK. The film celebrates the wonder of flavor and the emotional feelings that taste can create. “Flavor of Home” is an emotional story that has resonated with people around the world.

The most important part of the day in our home is dinner. That is when we sit at the table as a family and enjoy a home cooked meal while talking about our day. It’s helped our family create some great bonds and long lasting memories with one another. I know that for my wife, there are certain meals she loves to cook that bring back the Flavor of Home and great memories of her childhood. I’m grateful that she has the desire to share these same experiences with our family.

Studies conducted by Knorr show that flavor can make people happy and comforted, as well as remind them of home. Three quarters (75%) agree that just one mouthful of their mom’s home cooking is enough to bring happy memories from their childhood. Around the world, 82 percent of people say that the taste of some foods remind them of their childhood, while more than three quarters of people (77%) agree that food is always a part of me and can transport people back to loving childhood memories. Jon Affleck, Knorr’s Global Brand Director, says, “We believe life should be full of flavor, and what better flavor to celebrate then the taste of home. We were keen to capture a true and authentic story that brings to life how flavor is so much more than just taste; it’s about emotion.”

Does food bring back childhood memories for you? What is your favorite dish from home?
