Summary:

Good Date Movie, Action Packed, Believability Issues, Not Kid Friendly

“No Spoilers” – Being a sci-fi fan, Elysium was definitely on the list of movies I wanted to see this summer. The movie takes place in the not too distant future, where Earth is a big wasteland and the rich and elite have all moved to a space station that has the atmosphere, vegetation, homes, and life that Earth once had. On top of this, each citizen of Elysium has their very own medical device that not only keeps them young, but can heal any injury. Suffice it to say, everyone on earth want’s to get to Elysium.

The movie was definitely a good date night movie. It was action packed, entertaining and kept both Shannon and my attention throughout. The biggest reason I gave this movie three out of five stars was the believability factor. A number of scenes just weren’t believable, especially considering it was set only forty years into the future. Overall I would recommend Elysium. It is not kid friendly due to violence and language, but may be ok for teenagers.
